Yvonne Louise Sapp, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024, in Grundy Center, Iowa, at the age of 89. Born on June 23, 1935, in Marshalltown, Iowa, Yvonne led a life filled with warmth, joy, and deep connections.

A proud graduate of Eldora High School, Yvonne’s journey into adulthood found her in the role of a dedicated Secretary, where her strong work ethic and attention to detail shone brightly. However, it was outside of the office where her true passions flowered. Deeply devoted to her family and friends, Yvonne cherished the time spent on the farm, where she lovingly nurtured both the land and the moments that would become treasured memories.

Her passion for quilting was not just a pastime; it was an expression of her love, creating beautiful, comforting pieces that wrapped those she cared for in warmth. Yvonne found immense joy in playing cards, often accompanied by laughter and lighthearted competition. She had a special place in her heart for travel, especially her cherished visits to their cabin by the lake, where the beauty of nature and the delight of family gatherings created lasting bonds.

Yvonne was a beacon of light and love in the lives of her children—Greg and Maria Sapp, Debra and Doug Drangstveit, Timothy and Janet Sapp, Cynthia and Rob Steinmetz, and Ken and Camele Sapp. Together, they carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Her spirit continues to thrive in the laughter and memories shared with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a source of endless joy and pride in her life.

Yvonne is also survived by her dear sister, Billie and Brian Barber, and her brother, Sam and Jane Estes. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Sapp, who was not just her partner but her greatest supporter, her sister Peggy Mitchell and the late Dewey and Zora Estes, her cherished parents, whose love shaped her into the warm and caring person she became.

As Yvonne embarks on her next journey, may we reflect on the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the indelible marks she left on our hearts. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those she so deeply loved.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the American Cancer Society or the Susan B. Komen Organization would be appreciated.
