William John Blaeske, 83, of Eldora, Iowa entered eternal life on Friday, April 25, 2014. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora. Burial will follow at Jackson Township Cemetery in Owasa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora.
Bill was born on July 11, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to William A. and Erna H. (nee Nehrbass) Blaeske. He graduated from Custer High School in 1948. He entered the service in 1951 where he honorable served his country in Germany during the Korean Conflict until 1953. Upon his return home, he married his high school sweetheart, Marlene J. Trampe on November 21, 1953 at North Trinity Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI. To this union, two daughters were born.
The family moved to Eldora, Iowa in September, 1972 to an acreage south of town. After his retirement from the sheet metal trade, Bill and Marlene enjoyed traveling, fishing, spending time with family, collecting fishing lures, and attending estate sales.
Bill had recently moved into town where he continued his love of family, fishing, Brewers baseball, Packers football, and spending time with friends. He especially enjoyed volunteering his services at the Hardin Co. Farm Museum and his noon dinners at Dorothy's Senior Center. He was a member of the American Legion for 41 years and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Eldora.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Holly Dubberke and husband, Mark of Hubbard, Iowa; Lori Blaeske and Rufus of Hudson, WI; 2 beloved grandchildren: Aubrey and her husband James Green of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI and Dustin Dubberke and Rebecca Junge of St. Louis, MO., and very special great granddaughter Olivia Ann Green who he had just returned home from visiting with; one brother Richard Blaeske of West Bend, WI; 3 brothers-in-law Andrew Weiss of Milwaukee, WI, William Trampe of Iowa Fall, IA, and Gordon Trampe of Springville, IA, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 55 years , Marlene on December 29, 2008, his father-in-law and mother-in –law, William and Bess Trampe; his sister Betty Weiss and brother, Robert Blaeske; 3 sisters-in-law Margaret Trampe, Joyce Blaeske, and Joan Trampe, 1 brother-in-law Richard Trampe and nephew Rick Blaeske.
We thank God for the life of Bill Blaeske and all the blessings he received and gave during his life here on earth. We love you, Dad!
