Wayne Meister

Wayne Albert "Spider" Meister, age 56, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Eldora United Methodist Church. A committal service will follow at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Owasa, Iowa. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Eldora United Methodist Church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Wayne was born on October 6, 1956 in Lake City, Iowa, the son of John and Luella Meister. He graduated from Hubbard High School with the Class of 1975. Wayne worked most of his life as a professional Truck Driver, and the last 16 years were spent with ILC Resources. Wayne was united in marriage to Karen on May 18, 1996. They welcomed 5 children into their family. Wayne loved being a truck driver and enjoyed working his acreage with his wife Karen. He loved to garden and was fond of taking pictures and telling stories. Wayne loved to tinker in his shop. If something at home was broken, he could always find something at home to improvise a fix. He was a simple man who gave much of himself to all who knew him and many people were better for having known Wayne. Wayne had a great relationship with the Lord. He was a former member the Gifford United Methodist Church and later became a member of the Eldora United Methodist Church where he joined their men's Breakfast and Bible Study whenever he could attend. Wayne loved life and loved to have fun. He held a special place in his heart for his two dogs Pepper and Dog, but his true joy in life came from spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Karen; his mother Luella; children Tina (Shane) Clouser, Albert Meister, Heath (Heidi) Mitchell, Trent Mitchell(his girlfriend, Heather Tidman) and Tyson Mitchell; 10 grandchildren; brothers LeRoy (Chris) Meister, Russ (Jean) Meister and John R. (Lori) Meister; sisters Janice (Robert) Porter and Shirley (Curtis) Bunte and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father John.
