Wanda Ratte

Wanda Jean Ratté, 90, of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center. Funeral services and interment will be private. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center.

Wanda was born on November 11, 1927 in Rockford, Illinois to her parents Edward and Grace Bezdek. She graduated from the Rockford West High School in the class of 1946. She then graduated from beauty school in Rockford, IL and began her career in hairdressing. Wanda was a hairdresser for over 23 years. She then worked as a CNA at the Grundy Care Center for many years and retired in 1989.

Wanda loved to travel and visit with her friends and neighbors. She enjoyed flowers and being outside. Wanda also loved to winter in Texas with her special friend Al.

Wanda is survived by her children Pamela (Richard) Boyle of Arizona, Charles Ring of Iowa, Patti Giger of Illinois, Debbi (Jesse) Vicencio of Illinois and Vikki Frye of Iowa; sister Alice Ward of Illinois; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews; and special friend Al Harberts of Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ron Ratté; and sister Mary Crowell.
