Wallace C. Reinert, 74, of Eldora, died from natural causes on Monday, November 08, 2004 at the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 12 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with Pastor David Splett officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 PM on Friday at the New Providence Cemetery with military honors provided by Walter-Sayer Post 182 of the American Legion and Roll-Harless Post 3974 of the VFW. Visitation is from 5:30 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora.
He was born October 6, 1930 in Eldora, son of Walt and Florence (Kadolph) Reinert. He attended country school in Grant Township then graduated from Hubbard High School in 1947. After graduation he worked in the Hubbard and New Providence areas until drafted into the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army from November of 1951 until November of 1953. On February 14, 1955 he was united in marriage to Irene Snovel Reece in Grundy Center. Wallace was an over-the-road truck driver and retired because of health reasons in 1995. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Walter-Sayer Post 182 of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; daughter, Valerie (Larry) Lubbert of Marshalltown; sons, Larry (Carlene) Reece of Summerville, South Carolina, Steve (Deb) Reece of Union, Kent (Tracy) Reinert of Union, and Kurt (Connie) Reinert of Marshalltown; brother, Walter (Lola) Reinert of Hubbard; and by 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his parents.
