Vicky Kay Kiewiet, 64, of Morrison, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Unity Point, Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the Church. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the family.
Vicky was born on February 19, 1952 in Waterloo, Iowa, to her parents LeVern "Nut" and Idabelle McIntyre. She was raised in Morrison, Iowa and graduated from Reinbeck High School in the Class of 1970. She then earned her degree as an LPN from the Hawkeye Institute of Technology in 1981. She worked as a LPN at Sunrise Hill Nursing Home in Traer, Iowa for 4 years. She then dedicated her life to her family, and was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Vicky was united in marriage to Roger Kiewiet on February 19, 1975 at her parent's home in Morrison, Iowa.
Vicky was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center, where she taught Sunday school and was a person of deep Christian faith. She loved the outdoors and she especially enjoyed fishing, boating and camping. Vicky was an avid swimmer and enjoyed her pool. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and baking. Her true joy in life came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Vicky is survived by her husband Roger, her children Curtis (Velvet) Kiewiet, Steven Kiewiet, Gary Kiewiet (Amber Albers) and Jasmine Pratt (her fiancée Luke Beenken); many grandchildren; sister Sherry Kosanke; brother Lyndon McIntyre and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Mary Erhardt.
