Treye Allen Blythe, 18, of Ackley, Iowa, died Saturday, August 19, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at the Ackley-Geneva-Wellsburg-Steamboat Rock High School Gymnasium in Ackley, Iowa, with Pastor Tim Diehl officiating. Burial will follow at the Faith Presbyterian Church Cemetery, rural Ackley, Iowa. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with the family present to greet friends from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at St. John's United Church of Christ in Ackley, Iowa. A memorial fund has been established.

Treye Allen Blythe was born February 19, 1988, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Dustin and Lisa (Eckhoff) Blythe. Treye was baptized on May 16, 1988, at Faith Presbyterian Church, rural Ackley, Iowa, by Pastor Tim Diehl. Treye graduated with the Ackley-Geneva-Wellsburg-Steamboat Rock High School Class of 2006, this past May. Treye played football and wrestled in high school in Ackley, which he loved. He also played basketball, ran track, and had participated in choir. Treye was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Ackley. Treye had many friends, and he especially loved playing washers with them.

He looked forward to the Blythe Family Fishing Trips to Canada, and he also loved going to the Ozarks in Missouri with family. Treye worked at United Parcel Service in Cedar Falls and was going to start classes at Hawkeye Community College this fall.

He is survived by his father Dustin Blythe and his wife Cheryl of Urbandale, Iowa; his mother Lisa Smith and her husband Jeff of Ackley, Iowa; one half brother Zachary Smith of Ackley, Iowa, and one half-sister Grace Blythe of Urbandale; paternal grandparents Wayne and Joyce Blythe of Wellsburg, Iowa; maternal grandparents Paul and Lu Anne Eckhoff of Creston, Iowa; paternal great grandmother Marie Akkerman of Ackley, Iowa; maternal great grandparents Gerhardt and Edna Kramer of Ackley, Iowa; Henry L. and Louise Eckhoff of Ackley, Iowa; step-grandparents Mike and Kris Smith of Hudson, Iowa, Linda Smith of Hudson, Iowa; David and Connie Pecinovsky of Protivin, Iowa; two uncles Vaughn Blythe and his wife Amy of Center Point, Iowa; Brent Eckhoff of St. Louis, Missouri; one step-aunt Jean Rosonke and her husband Joe of New Hampton, Iowa; and two step-uncles Rob Smith and his wife Mindy of De Soto, Iowa; and Pat Pecinovsky and his wife Gina of Minot, North Dakota, and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by one infant sister Sidney Smith, and by great-grandparents George and Grace Blythe and Henry Akkerman.
