Timothy K. Santor, 52, of Eldora, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center due to complications of cancer. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9th at 10:30 A.M. at the Steamboat Rock Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8th from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Steamboat Rock Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Tim was born on November 25, 1961 in Fort Carson, Colorado, the son of Kenneth R. & Margaret H. (Sexauer) Santor. He was raised in Fairfield, CA where he attended school. He received his GED and graduated from Armijo High School in 1982. On January 14, 1991, Tim was united in marriage to Anna Petersen in Reno, Nevada. The couple welcomed two sons into their family. He worked as a Tow Operator (Big Rig) for Vacaville Tow in Vacaville, CA for almost 10 years. He later relocated with his family to Waterloo, IA in 2003 and later began working for Waste Management. He was most recently employed by Richelieu Foods in Grundy Center, IA.
He enjoyed working on computers/web design and was the owner of Future Tech. Computers. Tim was in the process of working on obtaining his Bachelor's Degree. He was also owner of Cards & Cards (sports cards) in California. Tim also enjoyed collecting stamps/coins, R/C cars, Nascar, fishing and model trains/cars but what he most enjoyed in life was spending time with his family.
Tim is survived by his mother Margaret Santor of Bristol, Conn.; wife Anna of Eldora; sons Jake & Drew Santor at home; sister Angela (Jerry) Tiernan of Fairfield, CA & brother Michael Santor of Bristol, Conn.; nephews David & Danny Fortune and niece Catherine Fortune. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth R. Santor; mother-in-law Jane A. McVey.
Tim's family has requested those attending his visitation and funeral to please dress casual.
