Thile Burdette Saathoff, 95, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away Monday, June 2, 2008, of natural causes into Heaven's loving arms.
Thile was the fourth born of 5 children to the late Fike and Tillie (Huisman) Saathoff on May 31, 1913 in Grundy Center, Iowa. He married the late Burnice Iva (Pierce) Stevens on June 25, 1960, and spent his life farming until retiring permanently to Tucson, Arizona in September of 2001 to be with family. Thile was a World War II veteran, an active member of the Grundy Center First Baptist Church and later Tucson Baptist Temple. He was well known for his quick wit but most of all for his quiet good nature, always grateful and never complained and known to his daughter as her gentle giant. Thile was preceded in death by his brother Walter. He is survived by his daughter Kathy (Duane) Lange of Tucson, grandchildren: Chad Lange of Cedar Creek, Texas, Danielle Lange, Jeff and Christin Linehan, along with 2 great grandchildren Kayla & Faith all of Tucson, sister Elizabeth, brother Harlan, niece Evelyn (Roger) Bergman and nephew Ron (Marlys) Saathoff. He will be sorely missed.
