March 20, 1950 — January 9, 2015

Therese (Teri) Hansen, 64, of Cedar Falls, passed away on Friday January 9, 2015, at her home near Dike, Iowa. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Dike. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Dike. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Teri was born March 20, 1950, in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Delores (Doubek) Dunt. Teri was raised and spent most of her childhood in the West Union area. The family moved to Washburn, IA in 1967 and Teri graduated from Don Bosco High School in 1968. Teri was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Alan Hansen on May 3, 1969 in Gilbertville, IA. They spent their early marriage in the Cedar Falls area but moved to Ventura, IA in 1986. While living in North Iowa, Teri worked at the Clear Lake Bakery and always spoke fondly of her time and the people there. Bob and Teri eventually relocated back to the Cedar Falls area where Teri worked and retired from Kohl's. Teri loved to spend time with her family and made wonderful memories on many Minnesota camping and fishing trips while raising her two children. Teri enjoyed bowling, working on crafts, and playing bingo. She also loved animals and was a huge racing fan, as well as an enthusiastic supporter of the UNI Panthers.
She is survived by her husband, Bob, of Cedar Falls; children: Shane Hansen and his wife, Sara, of Belmond, Sharla Hansen and her significant other, Mark Hadacek, of Mason City; siblings: Tom ( Pam) Dunt of Raymond, Nancy (Jeff) Higgins of Shell Rock, Mike Dunt of Evansdale, Mark (Lori) Dunt of Cedar Falls; grandchildren: Jordan, Cassandra, Jacob, Zack, Summer, Brianna and Isaac; great-grandchildren: Daxton and Drayton.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
