Terry Cole

April 18, 1964 — July 9, 2017

Terry Gene Cole, 53, of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at his home in Grundy Center. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center. Interment will be private. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Terry was born on April 18, 1964 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Del and Marcia (Shroyer) Cole. He graduated from Grundy Center High School in the Class of 1982. He worked at Bacon Veneer for several years until he became a supervisor at Richelieu; there he worked for over 27 years. Terry was united in marriage to Rhonda Redix on October 24, 1987. Together they welcomed their daughter Brittney into their family on December 1, 1990.

Terry was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center. He was a former member of the Grundy Center Jaycees and coached his daughter’s soccer team for a number of years. Terry was an avid golfer. He loved hunting, pheasants and deer. He was a bow and shot gun hunter and loved hunting with friends and his daughter. Terry also enjoyed camping with his family at Clear Lake, Iowa. His true joy in life came from spending time with his friends and family, especially his daughter.

Terry is survived by his parents Del and Marcia Cole; his wife Rhonda Cole; his daughter Brittney (Trent) Siefken; twin brother Larry (Julie) Cole, brother John Cole; sisters Lisa (Kevin) Swalley, Cindy (Steve) Simms and Cherri (Steve) Jackson; many nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
