Steven L. Peterson, 45, of Eldora, died at his home following a long, hard battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 while under the care of Hospice of North Iowa. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, January 20, 2007 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with Pastor David Splett officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:30 pm at Riverside Cemetery in Shell Rock, Iowa. Visitation is from 5 pm to 7pm on Friday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora.
Steven was born February 3, 1961 in Waterloo, Iowa, son of Kenneth P. and Nedra Ann (Heise) Peterson. His family moved to Eldora in 1963 where he attended Eldora Public School and graduated in 1980. He played the trumpet and tuba in the Eldora High School band and jazz band. He enjoyed outdoor activities including, hunting, trapping, fishing and archery. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora and the Friendship Club of Iowa Falls.
Steven is survived by his mother, Nedra; sisters, Lela Marie Murch (John) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Lesa Ann Ramson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nephews, Johnny Murch (Amy), Daniel Murch, and Matthew Ransom; grand-nephew, Logan; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth, on November 30, 2006.
