Steven George Faust

Steven George Faust, 77 of Grundy Center, Iowa passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Grundy Center Hospital. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard-work and kindness. 

Steve was born on January 12, 1947, to Harold and June (Michaelsen) Faust of Dunkerton, Iowa and grew up on the family farm. After graduating from Jesup High School in 1965, Steve went on to receive a bachelor's degree in ag business from Southern Illinois in Carbondale. During these years he also served as military police in the U.S. Army. His lifetime career was managing grain elevators in northeast Iowa for many years.

On June 24, 1978, Steve married Connie Hudson at the Reformed Church in Dumont, IA. After living near Dunkerton from 1980 - 1998, the couple moved to Grundy Center, IA.

Steve loved being involved in his community and was active in many organizations: 4-H, FFA, County Fair, Farm Bureau, Church, Lions, Lodge, American Legion, as a hospital and hospice volunteer. He was a devoted father and grandfather and cherished the moments spent with friends and family. His friendly nature made him a joy to be around, and he will be missed forever by all who knew him.

Steve is survived by his wife Connie Faust; sons Jeremy (Kayla) Faust of Iowa City, Matthew (Sarah) Faust and Mark (Marin) Faust of Cedar Falls, and Jonathan Faust of Grundy Center; grandchildren Hayden Faust (4), Nora Faust (1) and Henry Hudson Faust (1); sister Camille (Greg) Kastli of Independence and a sister-in-law Sheila Faust of Colorado, step-brother Steve (Jane) Hanson, and step-sisters Kathy Rachuy and Susie Bowers all of Jesup, sister-in-law Julie Hass of Minnesota, and brother-in-law Greg (Roberta) Hudson of Illinois, along with many nieces and nephews.

Steve rejoins in heaven his daughter Stephanie Faust, parents Harold and June Faust, brother Mike Faust, and stepfather Roy Hanson. 

A visitation will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am of Friday, November 22, 2024, at Orchard Hill Church Grundy County Campus, memorial service will follow at 11:00am. A luncheon for friends and family to share more memories of Steve will follow the memorial service in the church fellowship area.

Steven will be laid to rest next to his daughter Stephanie at the Dumont Cemetery in Dumont, Iowa, where military honors will be held at 3:00pm.
