Sharon Jones

Sharon Jones (77) of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away on September 13th, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 16th, 2016, at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church (Holland) Iowa. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service time. Memorial contributions can be made to the family to be designated to the Colfax Center Prebyterian Church or the American Cancer Society. Sharon Kay Kessler was born to John and Elsie (Lubbert) Kessler on December 28th, 1938, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area, attending La Porte City High School. In 1956, Sharon and Roger Ray Jones were united in marriage in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, the two moved to Los Angeles, California. Eventually, they would move back to Iowa, making their home in Waterloo, Iowa. They would later divorce. In 1964, Sharon would relocate to Grundy Center. She was an employee of Black's Tea Room, Joes Maid-Rite Café. Sharon also worked for Richelieu Foods for over 40 years, until her retirement in 2011. She was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church. Sharon loved reading, crocheting, acrylic painting, decoupage, traveling and shopping.

Left to cherish her memory is her son; Steve Brent Jones, brother; Jerry Lee (Linda) Kessler, nephew; Jeffrey Kessler Sr. and Mary Kay Everhart, niece; Laurie Anderson.

In death, Sharon rejoins her parents; John and Elsie (Lubbert) Kessler, daughter; Janell Jones, brothers; Lawrence and Leroy Kessler.
