Scott D. Nehring, 49, of Owasa, Iowa died on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with Pastor David Splett officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Township Cemetery near Owasa. Visitation will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Scott was born July 18, 1963 in Eldora, son of Jack and Elaine (Gast) Nehring. He was raised in Owasa and graduated from Eldora-New Providence High School in 1981. He was united in marriage to Lisa Carlyle in October of 1986 and they later divorced.
Scott lived in the McCallsburg and Nevada, Iowa area for 14 years, and then in the Peoria, Illinois area for a couple of years before returning to Owasa in 2011. He worked as a carpenter for much of his life and when returning to Owasa he accepted employment with Christensen Farms where he worked as a dispatcher. He enjoyed horses, working with stained glass, and also enjoyed playing pool and guitar.
Surviving is his mother, Elaine of Owasa; daughter, Brittani Nehring of Owasa; brother, James (Katie) Nehring of Owasa; and by several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack.
