Sally H. Jenson, 67 of Eldora, Iowa passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at her home in Eldora, while under the care of Iowa Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Eldora United Methodist Church. Burial will be held privately by the family. A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Memorials may be directed to Iowa Hospice or the Salvation Army.
Sally was born in Wichita, Kansas on July 9, 1944 the daughter of George and Lillian (Rea) Haines. She was raised in Wichita and graduated from South East High School. Sally continued her education while attending Kansas State University. Sally was united in marriage to Jerrold Horton Jenson on January 24, 1964 in Wichita, Kansas; they welcomed two daughters into their family.
In 1984 Jerry and Sally opened Eldora Plastics Inc. Upon Jerry's death Sally assumed the position of CEO for the company until her death on Sunday, May 20th. She also served as the Chairman of the Board of Plastic Recycling of Iowa Falls.
Sally was a long-time member of the Eldora United Methodist Church. Her true joy came from spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. Sally always tried to share her time, efforts and money with others, as she had been so fortunate that others had shared with her when she needed it most. Sally tried not to waste the days God gave her, but to live and enjoy each of them with her family and friends and to remember the many blessings that have always filled each day.
Sally is survived by her daughters Tara Jenson of Eldora and Trista (Ben) Nelson of Eldora; her grandchildren Layne, Braden and Rylee Nelson and her sister Charlotte (Jack) Norris. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerry and her brother David Haines.
