Ruth Frerichs, 89, of Lone Tree, Iowa formerly of Eldora died from natural causes on Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at one Tree Health Care Center in Lone Tree, Iowa. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 8, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Eldora with Pastor Douglas Harding officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Eldora City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial may be directed to the Eldora Methodist Church the Eldora Library or the Alzheimer's Association.
Ruth was born January 26, 1915, in Glenwood, Iowa, daughter of Samuael S. And Elizabeth "Robinson" Byerly. Ruth graduated from Eldora High School in 1932. On November 2, 1935 she was united in marriage to Jurn Frerichs in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Jurn passed away in 1970. Ruth was the Eldora Deputy City Clerk for many years. Ruth was member of the B.P.W., the American Legion Auxiliary, the United Methodist Church the church Circles, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for several years she was also active in many local and county committees. She was active in the local 4H club and was a Blue Star Mom.
Surviving is her son: J. and his wife January Frerichs of Iowa City, Iowa; a daughter: Nancy Dole of Iowa City, Iowa; 6 grandchildren: Tracey, Carrie, Jason, Justin, Julie, and Erick; a great grandchild Devlin; a sister: LaRoka Orr of Toledo, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jurn a brother: Joe Frerichs; and 2 sisters: Betty Whitney and Grace at birth.
