Ruth B. Clark, 89, of Eldora, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center in Marshalltown . A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 24 th from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. A graveside service will follow at 2:15 pm at the Eldora City Cemetery in Eldora.





Ruth was born on August 30, 1920 in Eldora, IA, the daughter of Robert and Freida (Rosine) Burns. She grew up in Eldora and attended school there, graduating from Eldora High School in 1938. She attended AIB College in Des Moines and obtained a one year degree. She returned to Eldora after college and began working as a legal secretary for James Cameron, a local attorney, for 5 years. She met Charles Raymond Clark and the two were united in marriage on January 7, 1945 in Eldora. The couple welcomed a son, Raymond. In 1953, Ruth’s husband Raymond passed away. After Raymond’s passing, Ruth began working as a deputy county treasurer for 5 ½ years. She then worked at the State Training School and worked as a secretary for 25 years, retiring in February 1984. Ruth resided in Colorado and Nebraska before making her home in Union in 1994. She also resided at Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora, as well as Arlington Place in Grundy Center and most recently the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad.





Ruth was a member of the First Congregational Church in Eldora. She enjoyed cooking, antiques and spending time with her grandchildren.





She is survived by her son Raymond (Judy) Clark of Union; granddaughters Jenny Clark (Joel Goodman) of Liscomb and Jordan Clark (Phillip Rubenbauer) of Marshalltown . She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; an infant brother.
