Ruby Jean Weber, 94, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Friday, August 15, 2008, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church rural Dike, Iowa. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral and Cremation Services- Dike Chapel, Dike, Iowa.
Ruby was born October 12, 1913 in Parkersburg, Iowa, daughter of Herman and Dora (Van der Aarde) Reinicke. She attended rural school and Parkersburg High School and on September 15, 1936 was united in marriage to John Weber Jr. They lived and farmed on the same farm for fifty years, then after the death of John in 1987, Ruby moved to Cedar Falls. She worked as a volunteer at the Lutheran Home in Cedar Falls. She was a member of the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church, their Sunshine Circle and Ladies Aid, and held various offices in their societies.
She is survived by her sons, Jay Weber and his wife, Karen of Cedar Falls and Jim Weber of Waterloo; sisters, Wilma Meyer of Marshalltown and Erma Lindaman of Reinbeck; brother, Harold Reinicke of Cedar Falls; four granddaughters, Julie Brown of Elk Run Heights, Susan Kiewiet of Parkview, Sara Dix of Cedar Falls, and Joyce Wolf of Cedar Falls; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and brothers, Vernon and Paul Reinicke.
