Royalie Sue Weiss

Royalie Sue Weiss, 87, of Reinbeck, Iowa died Thursday, October 03, 2024 at the Grundy Care Center, Grundy Center, Iowa. 

 Royalie was born on February 7, 1937 in Scranton, Iowa to LeRoy and Leta (Harding) Ellsworth. She grew up in Boone, Iowa as part of the class of 1955 from Boone High School. She led her life with a love of family, always putting the bonds she shared with her loved ones first. 

 In her younger years, Royalie enjoyed outdoor activities such as barrel racing and fishing. She also took up sewing. As time passed, she loved watching the birds around her home and planting and caring for her flowers. She also took great pride in her family, and cherished every moment spent with them.

 Royalie married Ralph Scheuermann and from that union a son was born. Ralph soon died in a work related accident. She later married Chris Gronbeck and they welcomed a daughter to their family. They later divorced.

 Royalie married Gene Anderson and the family soon moved to Ventura, California. It wasn't long before they returned to Iowa, making their home in rural Hudson. She was a school bus driver for the Hudson Schools and a stay at home mom. They later divorced and Royalie became the owner/operator of the Triangle Tap in Hudson. She met and married Arthur Weiss and they spent several years living on the east coast before returning to Iowa and enjoying their home in Dike.

 A few years after Art passed away, Royalie moved to Reinbeck, Iowa, where she spent her remaining days.

 Royalie is survived by her son Danny Anderson (Marta), her daughter Dannette Anderson, her sister Chloris Williams (Bill), and her grandchildren, Tucker Anderson, Zach Anderson (Sara), and Cole Anderson (Kayla).She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, Ellie, Lexie, Aidan, Easton, Evelyn, Mason, and Drake Anderson and her beloved dog, Benji.

 Royalie was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Ralph and Art, sister Maridith Larson and brother-in-law Bill Larson, brother-in-law Merlin Hubby, and nephew Lance Hubby.

 The graveside service will be held at 1:00 October 9, 2024 at Elmwood Cemetery in Dike, Iowa, with visitation from 2:00-4:00 PM at Abels Funeral and Cremation Service - 680 Main Street, Dike.

  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
