Rose M. Ruth

Rose M. Ruth, 72, of Beaman, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Mercy Hospital Iowa City, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Abels Funeral and Cremation Service, Engelkes Chapel in Grundy Center. No further services will be held. Rose was born on May 20, 1951, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to her parents Louis and Ilene (Burr) Linhart and was raised in the Tama/Toledo area. She worked many years at Fisher Controls as a machinist and several years at Coleman. She was united in marriage to Ronald Ruth on December 31, 2000, in Elkhart, Kansas. The couple moved several times before permanently relocating back to Iowa and settling in Beaman.

Rose loved to camp with her husband Ron. She especially loved to camp at Wolf Creek. She also enjoyed gardening, but her true joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rose is survived by her husband of 22 years, Ron Ruth; her children Steve Sunkel and Dani Plaehn; stepchildren Brad and Adam Ruth; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Peshel; sister-in-law Sharon Shoup; and brother-in-law Jeff Ruth. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister Helen Retter, sister Lois Harrelson; and brother Gary Linhart.
