Rose Dittmer

Rose Dittmer, 80, of Grundy Center passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, 509 4th St., Grundy Center, IA with visitation held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Lincoln Township Cemetery rural Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Rose Marie was born in Dike, Iowa on July 22, 1934. Rose was the daughter of Veiggo and Helga (Nielsen) Johansen. She grew up in the Dike area attending school there and graduating from Dike High School

Rose married Donald Duane Dittmer in 1967 in Toledo. Iowa. She was homemaker for her family. Rose enjoyed sewing crocheting, word puzzles, western movies especially John Wayne. Most of all Rose enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rose is preceded in death by her parent, her husband Donald who passed in 1992; brother, Robert Johansen.

Rose is survived by her children, Randy (Jennifer) Dittmer of Grundy Center, Diane (Sam) Varghese of Warrensburg, MO, and Rhonda (Matt) Burmeister of Dunkerton; 6 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren.
