Ronald J. “Ron” deNeui, 79, of Wellsburg, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Grand Jivante Assisted Living in Ackley, while under Care Initiatives Hospice. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 6th at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1105 Washington St., Eldora, IA with Pastor Bruce Zimmermann officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Shiloh Cemetery in Wellsburg. Memorials may be directed to the family and messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.abelsfuneralhomes.com

Ronnie was born June 16th, 1938 in Eldora to Abe and Clara (Panthen) deNeui. He attended school in Wellsburg and graduated in 1956.

On December 27th, 1961, Ronnie was united in marriage to Karen Kay Wemer at the Presbyterian Church in Gibson. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where he was an elder, taught Sunday school and was a youth leader. Ronnie was a school board member, a member of the Shiloh Cemetery Board and a Wellsburg Daze board member. He was a Pioneer Seed salesman for 17 years while he also ran the family farm. In later years, Ronnie enjoyed working at Hy-Vee in Iowa Falls.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Karen; sons, Jeff (Sandy) of Conrad, Paul (Chris) of State Center, and Bryan (Charlette) of Wellsburg; grandchildren, James, Jessica, Emma, Grace, Josie and Samantha; sisters, Kathleen (Al) Janssen of Waverly, and Carol (Tim) Zimmermann of Iowa City; brother-in-law, Jerry Wemer of Melbourne, FL. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, daughter-in-law, Susie deNeui, and sister-in-law, Fumi Wemer.
