Roland Dean Kruger, 61, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died of natural causes, Monday, August 27, 2007 at University Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa.
Roland was born February 23, 1946 in Grundy Center, Iowa, the son of George and Grace (Muller) Kruger. He was raised on a farm near Fern, Iowa, and attended Country School and graduated from Dike High School in 1964. On June 24, 1967 Roland married Gloria Pries at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo, Iowa. They made their home in Grundy Center, for over forty years. Roland was in the plumbing and heating business for 15 years and then at NCM for 22 years. Roland served his country in the Army Reserves for 6 years. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching all types of sporting events, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also loved to spend time with his grandson, Joseph. He was a member the Town and Country Golf Club in Grundy Center, and of the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center.
He is survived by His wife of 40 years, Gloria of Grundy Center, Iowa; a son and family, Dean Kruger and his wife JoAnn and son, Joseph of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; daughter, Ronda Kruger of Grundy Center, Iowa; and 3 brothers; Rodger and wife Marlene of Cedar Falls; Delmar and wife Julie of Parkersburg and Delroy and wife Diane of Grundy Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janola.
