Roger R. Ullery, 79, of Reinbeck, died Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck, with Rev. Mike Campbell officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
Roger Raymond Ullery, son of Raymond and Helen Wolpert Ullery was born January 29, 1936 in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1954 and attended 2 years at Butler University. On April 27, 1957 he married Jane Ann Shake at the First Presbyterian Church in South Bend, IN. Roger worked for over 32 years at General Accident Insurance where he was an insurance claims manager. Roger loved baseball and was involved in the sport all his life as player, umpire, coach and recommending scout for the Cincinnati Reds for over 20 years. Roger was a former Michiana High School Hockey Commissioner. He enjoyed golf and was a former safe driving instructor for AARP. His love of life and laughter embodied all that he was and the way he lived his life. "There are three things in my life which I really love: God, my family, and baseball. Survivors include his loving wife, Jane Ullery of Reinbeck; children, Kevin (Cindy) Ullery of Spartanburg, SC; Kent (Susan) Ullery of Vandalia, MI; Cheryl (Peter) Pease of Reinbeck; Craig (Maria) Ullery of Duncan, SC; Alan Ullery of Cedar Falls, IA; Brian (Kris) Ullery of Mishawaka, IN; Anne (Mike) Bailey of Gaffney, SC; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ellsworth W. Ullery.
