Robert Louis Conrad

Robert Louis Conrad, 91, of Reinbeck, Iowa, passed away from health complications, Thursday evening, April 10, 2025, at Creekside Living in Grundy Center. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center. Inurnment will follow at Reinbeck Cemetery. Memorials may be directed the Reinbeck Fire Department or St. Croix Hospice.

Bob was born in Cascade, Iowa on July 18, 1933, to his parents John and Mabel Conrad. He graduated from Winthrop High School. Shortly after graduation his family moved to Reinbeck and Bob joined the Navy. After four years aboard the U.S.S. Eldorado, he returned to Reinbeck, met and married Patricia McClure and they welcomed their children Chris, Lynn, and Cari into their family.

Bob became the first city mail carrier for Reinbeck. He also helped farmers and drove the GR School bus.

Bob liked to antique, refinish furniture, golf, play cards, and bicycle. For many years Bob and Pat loved to winter together in Mesa, Arizona.

Bob is survived by his wife Pat; son Chris (Julie) Conrad; daughter Cari (Chris) Johnson; sister Lois Dohrmann; grandchildren Blake (Megan) Conrad of Arizona, Brady (Megan) Conrad of Arizona, Jacob, Nicholas, & Tyler Conrad of Arizona, Alison Kruger of Iowa City, and Andrew Johnson of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Lynn Conrad.
