Rita Teresa Bartosh was born on Christmas Day, December 25th, 1927 to Carl and Monica (Freking) Bartosh in Heron Lake, MN. She was one of 11 children and attended Heron Lake High School graduating in the class of 1946. On June 6th, 1950, she was united in marriage to Clarence Schoborg at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake. Most of their married life was spent on the farm south of New Providence where Rita kept busy raising their four children, baking, cooking for the family, tending to her chickens and canning many fruits and vegetables from her garden. Most people remember her for the numerous children that she babysat for over the years. She did childcare in her home on the farm and for many more years after Clarence retired. They moved to Union in 1982. She cared for all babies and toddlers as if they were her own and continued to watch many of the children before and after school, for many years. Rita loved children and was happiest when she was with her children, grandchildren and her six great grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her children Kenny Schoborg of New Providence, Linda Schoborg of Union, Larry (Teri) Schoborg, and Gary (Jeanne) Schoborg of Eldora; her 3 grandchildren, Tiffany (Wade) Weaver of Pella, Brandon (Lisa) Schoborg of Hudson, and Stephanie Schoborg of Waterloo; two step-granddaughters and great grandchildren, Jack, Samuel and Kaitlyn Weaver and Olivia Ellie and Aubrey Schoborg; her sisters Fidelis Hoffmann, Mary Ann Benson, and Margaret Ling; her brothers Francis and Lee Bartosh; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clarence; a son; a daughter, three sisters and two brothers.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Oakview Nursing Home and the staff that took such great care of Rita over the last several months. She was very appreciative of the personal care she received from the nurses and staff.
