Richard D. “Dick” Weber, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, July 1, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 6, at 10:30 AM at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 9:30 AM at the church. Inurnment will take place at the Reinbeck City Cemetery with military honors performed by the Reinbeck American Legion Post #242. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice. French-Hand Funeral Home is taking care of Richard and his family. Richard Dean Weber was born September 1, 1935, in Minneapolis, MN, to his parents William and Rose (Thompson) Weber. He married Sandra Sloan on March 24, 1956 in Waterloo, IA. He attended and graduated from Hastings High School (MN) in 1954. He went on to serve 8 years in the Naval Reserves. He worked in the Dairy industry over 35 years before retiring. Dick enjoyed watching old Western movies, movies and books relating to the World Wars, putting together legos, and doing crossword puzzles. His favorite past-time was being with his wife “Precious”. He was a member of the UCC Church in Reinbeck Iowa and was a member of the American Legion.
Richard is survived by: his wife; his children, Randal (Sue) Weber of Indianapolis, IN, Russel (Sandy Jones) Weber of Grantsville, WV, Roxanne (Brad) Waring of Atlanta, GA, and Rhonda (Chris) Heerkes of Dike and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Richard is preceded in death by: his parents, sisters Peg Ludwig and Jackie Allgor, and son Richard B. Weber.
