Phillip D. Bittner, 46, of Gifford, passed away at his home on Monday, June 8, 2009 of natural causes. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 13 th , 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Gifford, IA. Interment will be private.
Phillip David Bittner was born in Eldora, IA on December 30, 1962, the son of Darrell and Peggy Caroline (Estes) Mitchell. He was born and raised in Hardin County, where he attended the Eldora school system. Phillip later married Marcia Frazier and born into this union was 1 son. He later remarried RaeDeen M. Perry on July 18, 1988 in Gifford and born to the couple were 2 sons and a daughter. A lifelong resident of Gifford, IA, Phillip worked construction for EcoTech Construction Company. He also worked at Mitchell’s Plumbing and the ValleyView Nursing Home. Phillip was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gifford.
He is survived by his parents Darrell and Peggy Mitchell of Gifford, IA; children Justin P. Bittner of Iowa Falls, IA, Phillip J. Bittner of Fort Dodge, IA, Ethan D. and Samantha D. Bittner of Gifford, IA; 2 grandchildren and 1 on the way; brothers Dewey D. Bittner of Spokane, WA & John D. Bittner of Lakeville, MN; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Phillip was preceded in death by his biological father Duane R. Bittner; brother Randy Mitchell.
