Peggy Brandt-Zea, 61, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Sunday, December 29, 2013, of natural causes. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck with Pastor Mike Campbell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church. Inurnment will be held at the Reinbeck Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Peggy Sue was born December 28, 1952, in Grundy Center, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Donna (Miller) Brandt. Peggy was raised in Reinbeck, attended Reinbeck schools, and graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1971. After graduating from high school, Peggy attended University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and received her Bachelors Degree. She worked at Glenwood State Hospital and School in Glenwood, Iowa as a teacher. Peggy was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck and The National Federation of the Blind. Peggy loved caring for animals especially horses, cats and dogs. She loved to spend time with her friends and family.
Peggy is survived by her parents, Robert and Donna Brandt of Reinbeck; brothers, Robert L. (Rosalyn) Brandt of Ames and Jack (Michelle) Brandt of Reinbeck; and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy is preceded in death by a stillborn son.
