Paul Ruppelt

Paul D. Ruppelt, 59, of Waterloo, died at his home from natural causes on Monday, May 29, 2006. Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, June 12, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Steamboat Rock with Pastor Harrison Lippert officiating. Private family burial will take place at the Steamboat Rock Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Paul?s family.



Paul was born November 18, 1947 in Pikeville, Kentucky, son of Carl E. and Dorothy L. (Slifer) Ruppelt. He was raised in Kentucky graduating from Wheelwright High School in 1967. He then studied music at the Pikeville College. Paul lived in Los Angeles during the 1970s working in the retail department for the May Company and later in Washington D.C. where he also worked in retail and volunteered with the homeless. He moved to Steamboat Rock, Iowa in the early 1980s and worked for Cedar Valley Hospice and at several area nursing homes as an orderly. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Steamboat Rock and enjoyed music and travel.



Surviving is his mother, Dorothy and brother, Eldon both of Steamboat Rock. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl and two infant brothers.
