Paul was born on July 27, 1919 in Holland, Iowa, the son of Uffa & Bertha (Goldhorn) Meents. Paul and his siblings grew up on the family farm and he and Alvin continued living in the family home, working as farmers.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing baseball with his cousins, had a love for music and even had the talent of being a "self-inventor", repairing or modifying any piece of machinery to make it run better. What Paul enjoyed most in life was farming. He worked proudly side by side with his brother on the family farm for many years.
Paul is survived by his brother Alvin of Holland; sister Clara Claassen of Parkersburg; sister-in-law Grace Meents of Grundy Center; 4 nieces and nephews John A. Meents, Rev. David (Diann) Claassen, Mark (Sheila) Claassen & Rhonda (Edward) Parker. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother John Meents; sister Iva Dean Dieken; nephew Dennis Dieken; a brother in infancy.
