Paul C. Cory, 22, of Iowa Falls, formerly of Eldora died from wounds received from a shooting in Iowa Falls on Friday, June 17, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, June 23 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eldora with Father Jim Dubert officiating. Burial will follow at the Eldora City Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora with Paul's family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. There will also be a prayer service at 7:30 pm during visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Cory Children's Fund at Iowa Falls State Bank.
Paul was born August 13, 1982, in Marshalltown, son of Craig A. and Marge E. (Cornelius) Cory. Paul was educated in the Eldora-New Providence School System living the majority of his life in Eldora, with the exception of 1992 to 1994 when he lived in Quincy, Illinois. He had plans of returning to school to study carpentry and heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Paul enjoyed music, skateboarding, basketball, and was an avid Chicago White Sox fan.
He is survived by his parents, Craig and Marge Cory of Iowa Falls; children, Daisy, Rory, and Steven; sisters, Jamie (Kenny) Fish of Quincy, Illinois and Jodie Cory of Iowa Falls; brothers, Weldon and David Cory of Iowa Falls; maternal grandmother, Teresa Cornelius of Carroll, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Micky Rolph of Eldora; and by three nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Glenn Cornelius; paternal grandfather, Paul Cory; and paternal step-grandfather, Herold Rolph.
