Patricia Spurlin, 85, passed away and entered eternal rest on August 25, 2014 in the care of Hospice of Palm Beach County. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora, Iowa.
Patricia was born on January 26, 1929 in Stapp, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of William and Pearl (Goforth) Windham. She was raised in Oklahoma, Arizona and California. She graduated from Heavener High School in Heavener, Oklahoma in 1947.
While attending Business College in Dallas/Fort Worth area she met her husband, Lyle Spurlin and was married on June 1, 1949. In 1950, they moved to Union, Iowa. She worked as a CAN/CMA in Eldora for over 20 years. After her retirement she worked at the Eldora Public Library for 7 years.
Patricia was the mother of five children: Danny, Debbie, Mike, Steve and Connie. She was divorced from her husband in 1983 and she never remarried.
Patricia loved to crochet baby afghans, tending her flower gardens and going to support her grandchildren's sporting events.
She will be missed by her children: Mike (Shelly) Spurlin of Toledo, Iowa, Steve (Paula) Spurlin of New Hartford, Iowa, Connie (Brett) Hare of West Palm Beach, Florida; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one sister; son, Danny; daughter, Debbie and grandson Jason.
