Patricia JoAnn Bown

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia JoAnn Bown, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who departed from this world on May 4, 2024, at Grundy Center, Iowa. She was born on March 7,1937, in Reinbeck, Iowa to Leonard and Ruth (Lacour) Schildroth. 

She graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1954. Patricia met and then married Robert Allen Bown on March 12, 1955, at the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck and then dedicated her life to her family and home, finding joy and fulfillment in the role of a homemaker.

In the embrace of her beloved husband Robert, Patricia found enduring companionship and support. Her legacy lives on through her children: Allen and Brenda, Michael and Lisa, Jeffrey and Gwen, Curtis and Janelle.

Among those who mourn her loss are sisters Delores Petersen and Ruth Trepp, as well as brothers Craig and Marie Schildroth and Warren and Becky Schildroth.

Patricia is also remembered by her grandchildren Jeremy, Brady (Katy), Cody (Kenadey), Shani (Jason), Jordan (Ryan), Noah (Lauren), Kyle (Lexie), Karly (Tony), Kara (Nathan), Rachel (Charles) and Parker. Patricia and Robert have also been blessed with 15 great-grandchildren who they adore: Sawyer, Avarie, Azley, Monroe, Cutter, Dru, Penelope, Ezra, Stella, Daxton, Caroline, Ruby, Mia, Livie and Eden. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Ruth Schildroth, brother L. George Schildroth, and brothers-in-law Marvin Petersen and Lowell Trepp.

Private family viewing and service to honor Patricia's memory will be held at Abels Funeral and Cremation Service- French Hand in Reinbeck on May 11th followed by a graveside service on May 18th. Memorials may be directed to the family to be disbursed at a later date.
