Oliver Siert Wright, 91, of Eldora, died at Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Eldora of natural causes on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, while under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Eldora. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be at Eldora City Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church.
Oliver was born September 20, 1922, in Ackley, Iowa, son of William Sr. and Sarah (Goeman) Wright. He grew up in Ackley and attended school i there and graduated from Ackley High School. After school Oliver enlisted in the United States Army serving his country from 1943-1945. While in the Army, he was an engineer building bridges. On November 12, 1948 Oliver was united in marriage to Reba Mann in Sioux Falls, SD. To this union they had son and daughter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eldora.
Oliver loved spending time with his family especially his grandkids and great-grandkids He enjoyed working with wood making cars, planes, trucks and trains.
Oliver is survived by his wife Reba, son, Steve (Bette) Wright, daughter, Marilyn (Ken) Buckley all of Eldora. Grandchildren John (Amy) Wright, Megan (Brad) Rewoldt, Michael Wright and friend Jessica and Eric Montgomery. Great-grandchildren, Malcom and Gwyn Wright, Sarah, Anfin, Hannah and Landon Rewoldt and Jade Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother William Jr. and sister Laberta Jones.
