Neva K. Lage, 83, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died Saturday October, 22, 2005, at her residence in Grundy Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at Salem Church of Lincoln, in Lincoln, Iowa, with Pastor Wade Ditty officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, rural Gladbrook, Iowa. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 25, 2005, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center, Iowa, where the family will be present from 6:00 - 8:00 to greet friends. A memorial fund has been established.
Neva was born October 29, 1921, in rural Beaman, Iowa, the son of Lester F. and Zoa (Lundt) Thurman. She attended Country School and graduated from Gladbrook High School in 1939. On March 6, 1946 she was united in marriage to Lester H. Lage at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a member of the Salem Church of Lincoln, She was active at the Senior Citizen Center in Grundy Center, and she enjoyed going on the bank trips.
She is survived by her brother Elmer (Doc) Thurman of Grundy Center, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Lester F. and Zoa (Lundt)Thurman and her husband Lester.
