Neta P. Lynn, 100, of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away of natural causes, on Friday, October 7, 2011, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in Grundy Center, Iowa. Funeral Services will be 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, October11, 2011 at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. a�" 7:00 P.M., Monday, October 10, 2011 at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to Family.

Neta Pearl Lynn was born in Grundy Center, Iowa on November 20, 1910 the daughter of Ira B and Ethel (Bloxham) Rouse. When Neta was four years old her mother died. Neta then lived in Missouri until age 12 with her Uncle Fletcher and Aunt Jennie Rouse. After returning to Iowa, Neta attended rural school in Palermo Township. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1929 and then taught rural schools for 5 years. She had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1927.

On May 19, 1934, Neta married Raymond G. Lynn at the family farm of his parents. Raymond passed away on March 28, 1992. Neta was a lifelong homemaker and gardener. At the age of 95 she spaded her garden in preparation for next spring's planting. She also enjoyed sewing and made many of her own and her daughters' clothes. Over the years, she provided many sandwiches and cookies for various occasions and was a prolific note writer to people who needed a lift or congratulations.

She is survived by her daughters, Laura (Gaylord) Brown of Grundy Center and Carol (Warren) Cook of Ames, IA; two grandchildren, Ian (Candace) Frerichs of Grundy Center and Anita (David) Eberly of Turtletown, TN; three great- grandchildren, Scott Frerichs, Ashley and David Eberly; and a number of nieces , nephews and cousins.

Neta was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; brothers, Elden, Floyd, Russell and their wives; her sister, Elma Schaa and her husband. Also preceding her were a special cousin, Payne Rouse and a son-in-law Allen Frerichs..
