Myrna H. Eiten, 81, of Wellsburg, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at UnityPoint Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the First Christian Reformed Church in rural Wellsburg. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the First Christian Reformed Church. Burial will follow at the First Christian Reformed Church Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Myrna was born on May 6, 1936 in Pease, MN to her parents Andrew and Minnie (Cuperus) Van Dalen. She was raised in Pease, MN and graduated 8th grade from Community Christian School in Pease, MN. She graduated from Milaca High School in the class of 1954. Myrna then earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Calvin College in 1958. She worked as a Christian school teacher at Excelsior Christian School in Ackley, Iowa and Timothy Christian School in Wellsburg, Iowa.

Myrna was united in marriage to Floyd Eiten on August 10, 1962 at the First Christian Reformed Church in rural Wellsburg, Iowa. Together they made their home in Wellsburg and welcomed three children into their family.

Myrna was a long-time member of the First Christian Reformed Church in rural Wellsburg and served the church as a Sunday school teacher. Myrna was an avid antique collector but her true joy in life came from spending time and caring for her family, especially her children and grandson.

Myrna is survived by her husband Floyd Gary Eiten; sons Steven Gary Eiten and Thomas Andrew Eiten (Terri Schierer) all of Wellsburg, Iowa; daughter Amy Minette (Richard) Wojdyla of Dubuque, Iowa; grandson Trace Thomas Eiten and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and many aunts and uncles.
