Mildred A. "Millie" Neuendorf, 84, of Eldora, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora while under the care of Iowa Hospice. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Eldora United Methodist Church with Pastor Vicki Reece officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30th from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Burial will follow funeral services at the Eastlawn Memory Garden in Eldora. Memorial may be directed to the family.
Millie was born in Brownsdale, MN on March 11, 1929. She was the daughter of John & Florence (Lubbert) Bottema. Her parents along with her 9 siblings later relocated to Whitten where Millie attended school through the 10th grade.
On November 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to Ervin Neuendorf. They made their home in Eldora. Throughout the years, Millie worked at various restaurants and grocery stores in Eldora and surrounding areas. After 13 years of marriage, Millie & Ervin were surprised by the birth of their daughter Valorie Sue. Millie then decided to stay home to raise her daughter. Ervin passed away on May 20, 1998. Millie lived on her own until June of 2012, when she moved to the Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora, where she spent the remainder of her life.
Millie is survived by her daughter Val (Doug) Owens of Remsen, IA; grandchildren Cole, Dakotah & Cade Owens of Remsen, IA; sisters Etta Moats of Grundy Center, IA, Dorothy Davison of Eldora, IA, Esther Ankrum of Marshalltown, IA, Delores Buzzell of Ogden, IA & Varina (Ron) Eason of Iowa Falls, IA and brothers Johnny Bottema of Eldora, Lawrence Bottema (special friend Mickey Roelfs) of Eldora & Bob (Linda) Bottema of LeGrand, IA; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ervin; brother Jake Bottema.
