Michael L. Staker, 66, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa from complications of peripheral artery disease and diabetes.
Michael was born November 1, 1941, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Louis and Melda (Hass) Staker. He was raised in the Reinbeck area and graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1959. On April 10, 1976, Michael was united in marriage to Mary Lee Syhlman in Cedar Falls, Iowa. After their marriage they made Reinbeck their home. Michael was self-employed as co-owner of B&M Tractor Service in Reinbeck.
Michael was a member of the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck. Michael was a member of Cedar Valley Corvette Club along with his son. Outside of work, Michael enjoyed various farm work activities and driving in tractor rides across the state of Iowa.
He is survived by two daughters- Robin Staker of Lamar, CO and Rhonda Leonard and her husband Terry of Muscatine, IA; one son- Micah Staker of Reinbeck; one sister- Sharon Kaye Koch and her husband Don; niece Pamala Koch, nephew Daniel Koch all of Reinbeck; one brother?in-law Jack Syhlman and his wife Kathy of Moravia, Iowa and special friend Norma Ellis of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by wife, Mary and his parents, Louis and Melda.
