Michael D. Burdick, 53, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Monday, November 25, 2013, at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck, Iowa while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013, 10:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck. Visitation will be on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. Burial will follow funeral services at the Reinbeck Cemetery. Memorial may be directed to the family.
Michael Duane Burdick was born August 25, 1960 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Russell and Evelyn (Aswegan) Burdick. He grew up in the Reinbeck area. Mike attended school at River Hills and Adults Inc. in Waterloo. Mike lived in the Waterloo area for nine years. He enjoyed watching TV especially Friends, playing cards and darts. Mike had a love for Elvis Presley and enjoyed dancing to his music. He loved to work as he had jobs at Almonds Greenhouse and Covenant Hospital in Waterloo, Crystal Bowl in Grundy Center, Trunck's in Reinbeck and delivered the Reinbeck Courier to stores on Main Street in Reinbeck. Mike was member of The United Methodist Church in Reinbeck. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Mike is survived his parents, Russell and Evelyn Burdick of Reinbeck; brother, David Burdick and Tonya Vozar of Reinbeck; sister, Connie Thede and her husband Jerry of Reinbeck; nephews, Jordan (Jessica) Thede, Jerin Thede and Dana Burdick; nieces, Jena Thede, Katie Burdick and Shaina Vozar; great nephews, Gage Cutsforth and Mason Thede.
He was preceded in death by a nephew Logan Thede.
