Marylene Carrie Phillips 85 of Wellsburg, IA died January 26th at U of I Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Following cremation, memorial services will be Thursday, February 2nd at 10am at Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg, IA with Reverend Bruce Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow at Wellsburg Reformed Church Cemetery in Wellsburg. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 1st from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home in Wellsburg, where the family will be present to greet friends. Memorials may be directed to the family. Marylene Carrie Phillips was born April 28th, 1937 at the home farm place in Wellsburg. She was the daughter of Edward (Tillie) Harms. She received her education in Wellsburg, IA On February 15, 1956, Mary was united in marriage to Lonnie Phillips Sr. In Eldon, Missouri. After their marriage they made their home in Eldon, Missouri, until moving to Wellsburg in 1965. She worked at the town grocery store in Wellsburg for 32 years until she retired. She loved reading, crosswords, and when she was younger she really enjoyed camping! She also loved her family very much. She is survived by her 3 children Monica Phillips of Wellsburg, Lonnie (Kim) Phillips of Wellsburg, Martin (Janelle) Phillips of Palo, IA. Several nieces and nephews. Plus numerous grandchilden, and great grandchilden. Sisters in law Conchita Harms of Marshalltown and Beverly Phillips of Des Moines. Proceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, brothers in law, sisters in law and her son, Lennie Phillips.
