Mary Henze, 90, of Holland died from natural causes on Thursday, January 19, 2006 in the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center.
Mary was born June 9, 1915 in Grundy County, Iowa, daughter of Paul and Martha (Harms) Frieling. She grew up in Grundy and Osceola Counties. After she completed her schooling she went to work for the Ferdinand Henze family and later married his youngest son William. Mary and William Henze we united in marriage on March 9, 1941 at the Salem Lutheran Church parsonage in rural Parkersburg. They were married for over 54 years when William passed away on June 5, 1995. Mary was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center, and of the Ladies Circle.
She is survived by her two daughters: Nancy and her husband Tom Flood of Pearland, Texas, and Susan and her husband Gary Schroeder or Holland, Iowa; 3 grandchildren: Jennifer and her husband Frank Monahan, Matthew Flood, and Brad and his wife Michelle Hitchings; two great granddaughters: Ryan Monahan and Teagan Hitchings; a brother: Clarence and his wife Frances Frieling of Parkersburg, Iowa; a sister: Mabel and her husband George Viet of Grundy Center, Iowa; a sister-in-law: Dena Frieling of Parkersburg, Iowa. Preceding her in death were her parents, and his husband: William; a great grandchild and a brother: Herman Frieling.
