Marvin A. Boelts, 86, of Parkersburg, formerly of Wellsburg, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the Parker Place in Parkersburg. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 11:00 A.M. at the West Friesland Church in rural Ackley. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will be held immediately following the funeral service for the immediate family only. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Marvin was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, horses and horseback riding and gardening.
He is survived by his children Arlen Boelts of West Des Moines, IA, Donna Boelts of Avondale, AZ and Sharon Widmer of St. Bonifacious, MN; grandchildren Michelle Willer & Stephen Sciachitano; 2 great-grandchildren Haley & Stephen Jr.; sisters-in-law Marion Boelts & Ruth Siems. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife Elizabeth; brothers LaVern & Herman Boelts and sister Ruth Boekhoff.
