Marrietta Greve, 98, of Reinbeck, died on Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice in Grundy Center, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am, on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Amity Presbyterian Church, rural Reinbeck, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery in rural Gladbrook, Iowa. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck, IA. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Marrietta Helen was born April 9, 1916, in Gladbrook, Iowa the daughter of August and Katie (Paustian) Hauschildt. She attended country school near Gladbrook. On February 26, 1946, she married Lester Greve in Gladbrook. The couple farmed in the Gladbrook and Reinbeck area. Lester died May 4, 1995. Marrietta moved to Westview Estates in December of 2001and later moved to Parkview Manor Nursing Home in May of 2013.
She is survived by her sons, Roger of Gladbrook, Dale of Euless, TX; three grandchildren, Eric (Jenn) Greve of Belle Plaine, Nikki (Josh) Uhde of Charles City, Robin (Matt) Moore of Reinbeck; three great grandchildren, Landon Moore, Corbin Uhde, Gracie Greve; and one brother, August Hauschildt, Jr. of Gladbrook.
In addition to her husband Lester, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lloyd, Raymond, and Clifford Hauschildt; daughter-in-law, Lonnie Greve; sisters-in-law, Beaulah, Arvella, and Blanche Hauschildt.
Marrietta loved playing BINGO, card games with her family and friends, caring for her flowers and apple orchard, and especially loved spending time with her family.
Marrietta gave a tremendous gift by being a tissue donor.
