Mark A. Kramer, 60, of rural Steamboat Rock, Iowa, died at his home on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 29 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora, with Pastor David Splett officiating. Burial will follow in the Steamboat Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Church for one hour prior to the services. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is in charge of the arrangements.
Mark was born July 4, 1951 in Eldora, Iowa son of Merle E. and Mildred "Mick" (Polzin) Kramer. He graduated from Steamboat Rock High School in 1969 and lived and farmed on his family's farm west of Steamboat Rock. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mark was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeye fan, and enjoyed playing "pepper" with friends and also enjoyed regularly calling on some of his very special friends.
Mark is survived by his mother, Mick; by brothers, Randy and his wife Laura of Steamboat Rock and Marvin and his wife Lora also of Steamboat Rock; sister, Robin Nicholson and her husband Doug of Fairbanks, Alaska; and by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Merle in December of 2008 and by a sister, Diane in 1959.
