Marjorie Wiley

Marjorie A. Wiley, 82, of Eldora , Iowa died on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls , Iowa . Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 17 at the Eldora City Cemetery with Pastor Richard Boatman officiating. Memorials may be directed to Marjorie’s family. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is in charge of the arrangements.

Marjorie Alyce Wiley was born January 7, 1928 in Jewell , Iowa , daughter of Paul M. and Alyce J. (Hildahl) Wallis. She graduated from Eldora High School in 1946 and then attended A.I.B. in Des Moines . Marjorie married Chester E. Wiley in 1948 and they later divorced. Marjorie lived the majority of her life in Torrance , California where she worked as a secretary for a middle school. She returned to Eldora in July of 2009 and has lived at the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center since November.

She was active in her church in California and transferred her membership to the Eldora United Methodist Church when she moved to Eldora. Marjorie enjoyed travel and reading.

She is survived by sons, Jerry Wiley of Las Angeles, California and James (Marivic) Wiley of Riverside, California; sisters, Ione (Ed) Ziesman of Eldora and Sandra Harms of Eldora; by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry; brothers, Sterling and James Wallis; and by three brothers in infancy.
