Marjorie A. McCall, age 89, formerly of Eldora, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. She was born April 22, 1925, to Ralph and Mildred (Stemm) Dickson in Menlo, Iowa.
Marjorie's family moved to Eldora in 1931. She graduated from Eldora High School in 1943. Upon graduation, Marjorie helped in the family business. In August of 1950, Marjorie was united in marriage to William McCall. Marjorie and William managed the local hardware store, along with her parents, until it closed in 1972. Bill and Marjorie then moved to Mesa, AZ, but with the untimely death of Bill, Marjorie moved back to Eldora, and she and her mother made Eldora and Mesa, their home. Marjorie worked summers for Everett Rogers at Pine Lake Saw Mill. She enjoyed knitting, traveling, nature, and built many good friends and good times. Marjorie was a member of the Eldora Methodist Church, and past Order of Eastern Star.
There are no immediate survivors.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on May 1, 2014 at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home, 905 Edgington Ave, Eldora. Burial will follow at Eldora City Cemetery, in Eldora, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 30, at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora.
