Marie Kathryn Pastorino, 83, of Reinbeck, Iowa, formerly of Tama, Iowa, died Monday, July 24, 2006, at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck.
Marie was born October 4, 1922 in rural Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Phillip and Clara ?Laschke? Murphy. She attended St. Patrick?s High School in Iowa City graduating in 1940. She then attended St. Joseph?s Hospital School of Nursing in Ottumwa, Iowa, graduating in 1943. She was united in marriage to Charles Pastorino on May 12, 1945 in Iowa City, Iowa. The couple lived in Michigan, New Jersey and California where Charles was stationed during his military service. In 1946, the couple made their home in Waterloo, Iowa where she worked as a registered nurse at St. Frances Hospital. In 1956, the couple moved to Tama where Marie worked as the South Tama School Nurse until retiring in 1984. After retiring the couple enjoyed traveling the country and made several trips to Alaska to visit family. Charles passed away in 1995, and Marie stayed in Tama until moving to Reinbeck in 2002.
Survivors include her three sons: Ray and wife Alexis Pastorino of Anchorage, Alaska, Frank and wife Vic Pastorino of Reinbeck, Iowa, and C. John and wife Cindy Pastorino of Juneau, Alaska; a daughter Nancy Ann Pastorino of Woodward, Iowa; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; three sisters: Rita and husband Tom Burns of Oxford, Iowa, Grace Scheetz of Oxford, Iowa, and Ellen Coan of Lone Tree, Iowa; and a brother: Bob and wife Eileen Murphy of Iowa City, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles in 1995 and her brother Ray Murphy.
